Posted: 7/13/04 at 11:10pmOh my gosh... I just bought this CD a few weeks ago, and I absolutely love it. I always enjoyed hearing Norbert on Wicked (I've never seen him live - he was out with that back injury when I saw Wicked) but after hearing L5Y I finally understand just what the big deal is with him. He's amazing... incredible range, too.

I saw it twice! (once for free
) The woman who played Cathy had an AMAZING belt. I heard a rumor that she left the show towards the end of the run because she had been offered another role somewhere else. Do you know if this is true? The guy playing Jamie also had an amazing voice, but his acting/gestures kind of annoyed me. But all in all, I loved the performance. I'm directing a show at that theatre this summer! I'm so excited to get to work in that space!

Posted: 7/14/04 at 12:44pmI think Sherie Renee Scott's voice is a little weak. I still think she is wonderful and does an amazing job in L5Y

Posted: 7/14/04 at 12:48pmHer voice is WEAK???? That girl is a helluva belter...

Posted: 7/14/04 at 12:54pmI would NEVER use the word weak in describing her. That's silly. That's like saying Chenowith's voice is untrained.

Posted: 7/14/04 at 1:23pmfinn fanatic- yea, kinda thought the guy was annoying at some parts too... i thought the girl was amazing, unfortunately at the very end of "i can do better" her voice kind of gave out at the climax. that was sad, but overall a very good production. i think i did hear something about her leaving before the end of the run but i dont know any details.

Posted: 7/14/04 at 1:30pmThat's interesting, her voice gave out a bit at the end of "I Can Do Better than That" when I saw it, too. Perhaps it was the same night! I was dissappointed. That is my favorite song in the show. She rocked the rest of it though. The second time I went my seat was right on the corner where she sits at the very beginning. She practically sat on my foot!

Posted: 7/16/04 at 1:39pmI only got to see LFY once, it was a concert of the show as performed by Lauren Kennedy and Jason Robert Brown (who also played the piano for it at the same time.) It was fantastic and I sat between two of my friends who cried from start to finish while I was busy being in awe of the talent in front of me. However, I must say that while I do love Shiksa Goddess the original song, I Could Be in Love With Someone Like You, is my favorite. I wish they had been allowed to keep that song in the show because (being an Irish girl myself) it was the coolest song to hear. Luckily JRB did it as an encore that night which made my evening.
