I saw it when it was on Broadway. They cast was very strong. In addition to Chuck Cooper and Lilias White, it had Pamela Isaacs who has a beautiful voice.
While the show ran over a year, it wasn't a sell out. The musical had a very dark theme and there weren't enough light moments to make it work.
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

Posted: 10/17/04 at 8:37pmi listened to clips of both and decided the bway cast recording was good for me. i think w/ a couple revisions the show might elevate to really good it sounds like
