"The Messenger" cut from AIDA#0

Does anyone know what happened to the song "The Messenger" from AIDA and if it was ever done on stage as it was my favorite song on the Pop Album ?

In my heart, I found the answered dream, and in my soul I found the song, and in my friends I found the magic, the love, the moon up above- they were mine, all mine, all along..!

I assume it was just cut during workshops. It was not in the Broadway or 1st National Touring productions.

It was in the world premier in Atlanta in the show. But after that the whole show was changed more or less totally. I really like this song and would love to listen to it in a showstyle.

I saw an interview with Elton John right after AIDA opened and he said that although he wanted the song in the show, the producers felt a new song that late in the show wasn't a good idea. I completely disagree and IMHO, I feel that song "fits" better than the reprise of "Elaberate Lives".
