I know I'll have many more audition oriented questions, so I thought I'd start an "official" thread, since that seems to be the trend around this board. Anyways, my main question is this: If the audition is Equity, and I'm Non-Equity, but there isn't an Equity monitor there (the breakdown said the producers are running all aspects of the audition, but there is a sign-up sheet), can I go at the time alloted and sign-up? Or do I have to sign another Non-Equity list and wait all day?

Backstage. They have them on most newsstands. The new ones come out on Thursdays. They have listings for Non-Equity and Equity, as well as numerous other things.

Thanks, any old new stands in the City? When ever I go, I'm usually just along 7th... will I be able to find it there?

Probably, or any of the subways. Also, check out Backstage.com - you can just get it delivered to your house or your apartment.

Personally, I would love to hear from people how the Equity auditions we read about went... from people who attended. Particularly if non eq's were seen. Or even who's planning to attend. I always check the auditions message board on Backstage.com - but it's practically ALL Moms asking about auditions for their kids. Argh. I wanna read about how the auditions for the GROWN-UPS went!

Anyone hitting the NYC audition circuit lately? Haven't gone been in the city in AGES.

What audition is it? Is it happening in the city?
For the most part, if it's an Equity audition, they have to see the union members who are there first, and then the non-eq. I say "for the most part" because a lot of times this rule is broken-especially when audtions take place out of town (like Jersey or PA)
However, even if there is no monitor, if they were to break this rule, members could call and complain.

Other than that, did you enjoy the play Mrs Lincoln?

Recently Backstage.com added several new forums. If you would like to see an 'audition' forum that is more adult focused - ask Tom. I think we could all learn from it.
