Hey everyone, I just got back from my trip to NYC! It was amazing (as only NYC can be).

Company was the main reason for the trip and it was... everything and more than I remembered from Cinci. I like the changes, I like the way the theatre works, and it was so great.

I saw Angel's understudy for Marta, and it was interesting to see her view on the role. It seemed a bit angrier, but I like it. Raul is... probably the most amazing performer I'll ever get to see in my life, and so sweet at the stagedoor I don't even feel guilty taking his time because it feels like a real conversation- not some fangirling experience.

All in all, totally worth the 14 hour long Greyhound Bus ride (screaming baby and all). And I got a pretty new picture of Raul out of it the official raul esparza thread (see my new avatar).

bumpa! because I FINALLY saw Company yesterday and... basically, I have no words to describe how amazing I think this man is. None. :) Seriously though, I think that he is probably the single best performer I have ever personally seen live- and the fact that, as unreal as his voice is, his acting is even BETTER, just goes to show that he is one HELL of a fantastic, unbelievable real and honest actor. And to say that listening to/seeing him do Being Alive feet in front of me gave me chills would be the hugest understatement in the world. The Tony is HIS. plain and simple :P

(for the record, I thought the rest of the cast was brilliant too! and LOVED the show. But, you know, this is the Raul love thread, and he WAS the best part of the show for me, so.. hehe)

I don't need a life that's normal. That's way too far away. But something next to normal would be okay. Something next to normal is what I'd like to try. Close enough to normal to get by.
