It's based on an Irish legend of- surprise, surprise- a female pirate. It's meant to sound very celtic.
Let's pray you know who won't be working his special Martin Guerre producing magic on this one!

Oh, I'm sure he will be... Boublil, Schonberg and Mackintosh (*whispers* am I allowed to say his name?) are one package really.
Actually, I LOVED the original and even the revised production in London. I just thought it started to go all wrong with the UK tour.

Well, he has put it on record that he won't be producing any "new" shows in the future- I guess Mary Poppins is excluded from that category because of the film. Pity if it's true- if there's one producer who can afford bigger risks...

Actually, Cameron Mackintosh is producing a new play, LETTERS FROM LEHRER by Richard Greenblatt, with Canstage in Toronto next year.
