The Prince and the Pauper

Did anyone see this a few (well, more than that) months back?
I just thought it was such a wonderful show for theatergoers of all ages, and what a shame that it closed so soon.

I heard it's coming back...but then I wonder why it closed to begin with? Really, it would be wonderful on Broadway; but I must admit, I rather enjoy the comfort and secureness of an off-Broadway theater once in a while.

This show originally closed because the producers did not want to try to keep it open during the slow season between the first of the year and when schools let out for the summer. They thought it would be too difficult to keep a large enough audience at the performances to meet expenses. They always planned to reopen. I thought it would be in time for Spring/Easter vacation.

Rehearsals have or are just about to start. The opening should be about June 1. I was speaking with someone in the new cast this past Sunday. I plan to attend on June 7 to see my friend perfom.
