Haven't seen the show since January, so I decided to go take a look. Well, it wasn't my first choice....I tried the Wicked lottery, no dice. My girlfriend was bummed so we went over to TKTS and got Producers, her first time, my fourth. I have to say, the show is in tip top shape. Brad Oscar was great, no Nathan Lane, but I'm glad all the adlibbing is gone. Angie, John Tracy, Brad, and Gary were all terrific, too. I congratulated Gary on Le Cage and he said that he starts rehearsals on Sept. 27. He was carrying a big book about St. Barth....maybe getting ready for a vacation. The bright spot in the show, what made it even better, was Hunter Foster. This guy is the best Bloom I've ever seen, better than Broderick. He sings the hell out of the role a lot better than Broderick did and hes also a great dancer. My theater companion was waiting for him to sing Suddenly Seymour, but she was glad he didnt. She loved the show and got all the autographs she wanted. Then, we ran over to Wicked again where she got pictures with Joey macntyre, jennifer thompson, and a 'sort of' pic with Idina, her idol. great night!
Thanks for the review! I really want to see Hunter, but I might catch the tour in CT instead because it is easier for me.
