This may seem very random... but did most of the OBC of RENT smoke? (not the ensemble)

"OK, i thought i hated the Wicked fans (the teeny bopper ones) but with what's goign on with idina and her last performance - i have a new hatred for them...." -BSoB
AGREED!! What is going on with that?! I respect Idina SO MUCh as an artist, she's amazing. But her fanbase consists almost totally of 12-15 year old girls who are OBSESSED with her.
To me she isn't the kind of person that is so appealing/attractive to "kids".

on some other broadway message board site, these people were going on and on about Idina starting smoking during RENT because ALL the cast did it (to get into character or something) and she was the only one that didn't ... and how all the smoking in RENT has caused her to have breathing problems or something
that sounded like total BS to me

star2b - glad to see somebody else is thinking clearly - i mean if she misses her last show that would suck but rib injuries for a singer - broken or bruised can be bad and she could have a lot of trouble breathing for a long time which could throw off her singing
i mean all people heal differently but my family and i were in a car accident this summer (july) and my mom broke five ribs and they still haven't healed so you never know

wow this is gonna be very newbie-ish, but did the accident cause you to want to leave RENT?
my other fav part about Idina fans are that theyre mostly only people who've seen wicked and dont even know that she was in RENT (or were 5 years old when it came out) or produced her own music

uh, yeah - I think so- didn't I say Idina's fans? (Im lost sorry)
No I'm not trying to insult young people who like Wicked and Idina and Rent... (THAT WOULD BE ME)
just the ones that are crying not because Idina hurt herself and is HURT but because she hurt herself and they're not going to get a signed Idina playbill and meet their "inspiration and idol who changed their life"... while really they've only seen her as Elphaba and Wicked and they dont know anything about her.

um, well name-wise, my mom's a big feminist, so she kept her maiden name and bestowed it on us for a little while (weve taken my dads last name now but anyway) ...
well the name happens to be Beenstock (pronounced Beanstalk)
so they called her Andy growing up, and her sister was named (of all names) Jackie
and so they were always Jackie Andi Beenstock
(Jack and the beanstalk.. if you cant get it sorry)
and so um I know crap about names.

my neighbor is Japanese (Sono Yaki is his name) and he got married to a girl named Terri ...
and she took his name so now her names TerriYaki.
hahaha it makes me laugh all the time, but like you Fredi, she wanted to take his name. She didn't care about the embarassment.
but it amuses me

okay so this is directed to anyone (speaking of Marks) ...
Is the cast of RENT on Broadway worth going to see now? I'm venturing up to NYC in a few weeks and was wondering if it would be worth my time to go see them (it's hard watching a non-OBC of RENT, Fredi!! )

k, sounds good. Guess I'll go see it again (seeing as it has been what, 9 years now!) I wish Drew Lachey would just leave.
and about Idina, people are posting other places these conspiracies theories about the interracial marriage threatener moving the platform so shed hurt herself.
and Cam- I'm the same way. And um, one time when i started dating someone , I didn't ask for a family tree- and um, yeah the guy turned out to be my cousin. It was ok because we found out QUICK... but ewww it still grosses me out .
