hey can someone tell me where it is? im going to NY in August to see it and i like to meet some of the cast memebers.
When you exit the theater make a left. Everyone comes out and signs. They're all very friendly.

I've never stagedoored a show before, but am planning on seeing TWS in August...how soon after the show ends do I have to leave to get a shot at getting autographs from the cast at the stagedoor? Can I be there for all the curtain calls or do I have to beat the crowds?
Thanks to anyone who can help!
I went on a Saturday night and while there was a decent sized crowd, I got there after the curtain call and got a spot up at the barricade. I met all of the principles except Matthew Saldivar and Rita Gardner (I don't think Matthew came out but Rita did and ran out to avoid everyone) and they're all sweet and gracious. I got pictures with them all as well.
There's no real need to rush, but if you leave directly after curtain call and beat the crouds, you'll get a good spot.
I went to a Saturday matinee, and had to get out from left orchestra. When I finally got to the stagedoor, it was MOBBED. There were people one every corner of the barricades, a row behind them, and a row behind them. I was basically standing in the street, and had to try to push through people to be able to get my playbill signed, and could only get through to get Stephen, Kevin, and I got Tina as she was leaving. I ended up not being able to get Laura, Felicia, Cara(who was on for Amy), Matthew, and Rita. There were also having a barbeque backstage, so a lot of people didn't come out and the leads went back in after signing autographs.
My advice is to get there as early as possible, even just to be safe. When I saw Hairspray, we left at the end of curtain call to secure a spot on the barricades. It makes things a lot easier.
Stephen will usually stay until everyone gets their fair share of him. lol
The entire cast stays and signs for everyone. Sometimes Rita leaves quickly, but for the most part the cast will sign till everyones happy. A very nice cast. Stephen will stay and talk to people all night long.
We were there for like a good 20 minutes to a half hour and Stephen was the second lead out and was still there when we left. He really does make sure everyone gets an autograph/picture. He's a great guy.

yeah, its def necassery to stagedoor after this show. Because um.. Stephen is a TOTAL sweetheart, hilarious, and more adorable than you could EVER imagine. (and for the record, he was the first lead out of the stage door. the only people who were out before him were ensemble members and stuff that left right away and didn't sign at all) Seriously, he is amazing even just as a person hehe. And um... Amy's a sweetheart, Felicia is a RIOT and the friendliest person EVER, and Kevin is unbelievably lovely to talk to too <33 And they all are MORE than willing to take pics :) seriously, they'll be like walking out and all you have to do is go "Sorry could I get a picture really quick!?" and they're like "of course!"
