How is this show's score? I was wondering if I should add it to my Christmas list or not...any comparisons?
I love it. It's a rock score similar to something like Jesus Christ Superstar, but more accurate of the rock genre, I believe. I saw the show twice and would gladly see it again. Try the link to listen to clips. It's not everyone's cup of tea.
Tommy Clips
Agreed. For those who love true rock musicals both these show's do indeed rock. I covered the tour at the Merriam in Philly, 2/02 and am in need of a Tommy fix!
LOVE My tommy cd. matter of fact i randomly pulled it out the other night and a friend requested a song. she told me the next day she forgot how good that cd was and put it back into rotation.

I'm also a big fan. It's a great set. As a whole, I like the 1st disc better than the 2nd, but the 2nd has some gems as well.

I was actually in Tommy at a community theater a few years ago. I DO love the music from the show. It's one of my favorite rock musicals, after Godspell.

Awesome, plus favorites are in their as mere ensemble members: Alice Ripley, Norm Lewis, and Sherie Rene Scott!
Sherie Rene Scott has a big song. She plays Sally Simpson, and sings a lot on the second CD, near the end. She asks Tommy how all his fans can be more like him, and he freaks out because he's finally more like them!
She's also in "Tommy, Can You Hear Me?" in which she's one of the only 2 or 3 girls in the song.

Well, I put it on my list.
"A flash a fire, the whole place stops --- Tommy is a tranquilizer!"
Sherie is wonderful on that CD, and she has only gotten better...
