The Wiz Casting Rumor

Tonight I went to the first of Valarie Pettiford's NYC cabaret debut. The show was excellent, the three numbers from Fosse were definitely the highlight of the act.
But, when she came back for an encore she started by saying in the future I will be coming back to Broadway as Glinda in the Wiz and went on to sing an amazing rendition of Believe In Yourself. I talked to her after the show and she sounded pretty sure and positive that she was going to do it, but then she crossed her fingers and said that she really hoped she would come back.
I for one would love to see Valarie on Broadway again and would definitely see The Wiz if she were in it.

As long as Anika Noni Rose is playing Dorothy, I'll be a happy boy. We so need this show to come back!
