They will not announce anyone in the cast until October 30, 2006 at Universal Studios CityWalk Hollywood.

Direct from Stephen Schwartz on LA casting:
"SS: I don't think I am allowed to. I actually know who's doing it. With two exceptions, all of the leads are people who have already done the show in one of the current companies, and almost all of them have done it on Broadway at one point or another. It's a really good company. Two of the leads were cast here in Los Angeles. Although, I am not sure who is doing the Wizard. "

-Adam Shankman.
"I haven't left this building since Windows 3.1!"
"Celebrating a birthday this week: Rene Descartes is 412! Do you know who he is? Then why are you watching this show? You could probably get into college and even get one of those job things. As for the rest of us; Amanda Bynes is 22! Yay!"

Getting old to whom? Wicked fanatics, perhaps, but I don't think the general population cares one way or another. Hell, they're probably not even aware that these cast members are being recycled.

People don't post about Cats every day.
Name the actor in the pic, and you get $10.00. :)

I imagine the general ticket buying public is pleased as punch that they're getting performers from Broadway companies. "(Blank) comes to the L.A. company of Wicked direct from Broadway."
It gets them excited. It's only the fanatics and people who've seen the show multiple times that get bored with watching Eden and Megan Hilty do it AGAIN.
And yeah, last I heard the Wizard was David Garrison, but that of course isn't confirmed.

I am pretty sure Garrison is indeed going to be The Wizard.
I have heard that the two principle roles cast with actors new to the show are Boq and Nessarose (Boq is someone by the name of Adam Wylie.)
They wanted Jenna Leigh Green for Nessarose, but negotiations fell through...

The LA cast is pretty well known to be:
Eden Espinosa (Elphaba,) Megan Hilty (Glinda,) Carol Kane (Madame Morrible,) Kris Cussick (Fiyero,) Adam Wylie (Boq,) and Timothy Britton Parker (Doctor Dillamond.)
The only casting unknown at this point is The Wizard (who most people are assuming to be David Garrison) and Nessarose...

I don't know that I'd call Danny Gurwin a Broadway star.

Posted: 10/23/06 at 5:29pmWait....your music teacher was in The Full Monty? He stripped onstage, in front of a ton of people? Can you even fathom going to see a show when all of a sudden, "Oh, there's my teacher!" That's kind of creepy.

Posted: 10/23/06 at 7:07pmWasn't Adam Wylie on PICKET FENCES and also in the INTO THE WOODS revival as Jack? I'm sort of getting a scaredy cat feeling now...

Posted: 10/23/06 at 7:18pmI do not really see why they need this big unveiling if it is all people who have played it before. If it was going to be a big name cast that is differnt. The general public will not really care about Eden and Megan because they will have no clue who they are.
