I just got my tickets for Woman in White. I am really excited about this show. I read the book many years ago. The music is by Andrew Lloyed Webber.
Glad for you...but it is spelled Lloyd Webber...
It was a typo. Picky picky. ha ha

Have you heard the cast recording, BroadwayLady?
Or would you rather wait to see the show first

I got the last 2 seats in Row M mezz for the first preview and am so excited. I have listened to teh cast recording, but haven't really like sat down and listened to it you know. Like I played the CD, but wasn't really concentrating on listening. Anyways, do you think I should listen to it before (i.e.- does it have spoilers?) or wait until I see the show?
Yes, the cast album has major plot spoilers, but on the other hand, it's not a score that hits you the moment you hear it and needs repeated listenings to really appreciate. Go see the show, then listen to the CD a few times (even if you don't initially like it) and it may grow on you
i love the cd! and though, i may know some things that may "spoil" the show, i'm still excited to see it. i know i'll love it, whether i know the "secret" or not.

I've had the same experience, Eastwickian. I wasn't immediately taken wtih the CD, but after several listenings, I heard all sorts of nuances that I'd missed the first few times. Now it's a new favorite. You're right about the spoiler effect, though. Still, the secret of the show is not the secret of the novel, as I recall. I found all the performances quite engaging, though I thought Angela Christian's Ann is a bit strident. But then, as she's playing Ann Cathrick, it might be intentional.
