> Fully arranged for the London Orchestra, the lushness of the music comes out in full force
One of my main reasons FOR re-recording with the Broadway cast. The OLCR utilized the theatre orchestra. To preserve something for all time like a recording, shouldn't they be doing the very best.
Compare the World Premiere Recording to American Premiere Recording of Sunset. Take out all the changes they did to the score and the voices - just listen to the Overture and Entr'acte and you can hear the signifigant difference with the orchestras. The American recording had something like 100 musicians compared to the WPR which used some music recorded at the Sydmonton Festival and the theatre orchestra for the rest.
The difference is Night and day. And with the beauty of WIW, especially haunting melodies like "All for Laura" and "You see I am no ghost" - they Need to have the full strings section

>>>For those who haven't seen Woody Allen's "Match Point", there is a scene at "Woman in White" in London - though nothing of the show itself is seen - and "I Believe in Love" is heard on the soundtrack.<<<
I've read about that - and one of the reasons why I am keen to see MATCH POINT is to check that one out
