Forgot to mention this:
When I saw XANADU last Sunday a little girl sitting in the second row of on-stage seats in the center dropped her glowstick. It landed right at the bottom of the ramp in a VERY dangerous spot. She kept inching up out of her seat for an opportunity to go pick it up, knowing it was dangerous where it was.
She then told the person on the opposite side of the aisle about it, but the other person wouldn't pick it up. Then the girl told a teenager sitting in front of her to pick it up. The teen was waiting for an opportune time to swipe it, but it never came.
Meanwhile, being distracted from these on-stage conversations, it seemed as if the stage manager was informed as he told Curtis about it and on Curtis' next entrance, he went right for it and threw it offstage.
Later on, an ensemble member picked up a glowstick from the floor and threw it under her one-piece she was wearing. I didn't see how that glowstick ended up on the floor.
Might I suggest two things to the production of XANADU:
1) Do not let anyone under 18 years of age sit on stage.
2) Inform the on-stage audience to place the glowsticks in their pockets until it is time for them to whip them out.
Those things could have caused serious injuries.

I think she was more embarrassed than anything. I didn't see who picked it up but it was on the ramp and I kept looking to make sure no one skated over it.

they should add lil cords that you can slip on your wrists.

I agree that audience members should be told to keep the glowsticks in their pockets, but why should they be 18? I don't think age really has anything to do with it.

Posted: 7/14/07 at 1:30amThere were no glowstick mishaps when I saw the show... and I just threw mine on the seat next to me? It's really not that big of a deal.

Posted: 7/14/07 at 2:49amWhen I went there weren't even any glowsticks in the show. But I do not see a point in not letting anyone under 18 into the onstage seating area. As a 17 year old, I think I am mature enough to hold onto a glowstick and not drop it on the stage, and I think my 13 year old brother is too. You must be 10 years old to sit onstage though. That's an actual rule.
