The divine Christine Ebersole

I was just reading about Christine's cabaret aboard the premiere voyage of Rosie's r family vacations and I was reminded just how amazing Christine is. I was priviliged to see her 3 times in her Tony-winning turn as Dorothy Brock in 42nd Street. She is an excellent dramatic actress and has a real knack for comedy as well. Her voice is beyond belief, beautiful, has high notes, low notes. When will she back on Broadway?

And does anyone have any good ideas for shows/roles that she would be perfect for?

Not right at this moment but i think she would be good as Madame Morrible! But then again its a supporting role.

Dolly, you're so right about CE. I saw her 2X in 42nd St. & saw her cabaret show 2X's at Arci's Place & 1X at The Kaplan w/Marc Shaiman at the piano & Jessica Molaskey as guest. She was also terrif in Billie Burke's role in Dinner at 8.

How's about someone writing a musical for her?

I know she did it at Papermill, but Mame in MAME perhaps? She could have been killer as Mama Rose, too.

I love the idea of her as Rose. She has the vocal as well as acting chops for the role -- unfortunately we won't likely be seeing another revival of the show anytime soon. Perhaps, she should take it on somewhere regionally.

She also ideal for both Mame and Vera. I know Baranski's been mentioned often for both roles, though she apparently has little interest in doing another sidekick role and would prefer Mame. Personally, I think Ebersole as Mame and Baranski as Vera would be terrific.

I love Ebersole as well. She did MAME at Papermill a few seasons ago, and it is a great regret of mine I did not see her.

She was working with Kathie Lee in the latters Aimee Semple McPherson musical, but seems to have dropped out of that project.

She was in a movie years ago, Amadeus. Anyone see her in it?

She was in Amadeus? hmm I'll have to see that again. I think she is terrible for Madame Morbille.

I saw Christine Ebersole in the Role of Mame at the Papermill Playhouse, a few years back...she was wonderful! It was a present from my Mom, so her and I went and saw the show. We were 5th row and from the seats....she looked great, her costumes were beautiful, and most importantly, her acting and singing were to be deeply admired. I'm so thankful we went...it was not to be missed (and if you did "miss" it...it's meant to be, that's the way I look at it).

"Mrs Robinson, you didn't really think I would do something like that?"

Shes too talented to be Mme Morrible. She only sings about 2 lines and doesnt have that many lines. Her talent would be wasted in that role.

I thought she was just incredible in "Talking Heads" last season. I never expected that terrific performance in the non-musical play.

She was a joy performing with Marc Shaiman at his Bound Brook NJ benefit a few months back, funny, and in wonderful voice.

I like Christine as well. She has been in a number of movies. She was the Soprano in Amadeus (her voice was dubbed)

I did "Lady in the Dark" with her at Encores. She was funny as hell
