Hugh Jackman has been pretty vocal about hoping to get a film remake of CAROUSEL underway for a good ten years now. I think he realizes that ship has sailed, which is probably why the talk about that project has diminished. It's a shame; would love to have seen it happen.
But if it does happen in the future, I could see Jeremy Jordan, Aaron Tveit or Steven Pasquale as Billy.

I can't really see Sutton as the quiet and vulnerable type. At the New York Pops gala tonight, where every female performer was dressed to the nines (whatever that means), Sutton was dressed like she was performing in the rehearsal before the dress rehearsal. Her fans didn't seem to mind at all."
Did you see her in Violet? Quiet and vulnerable all the way. And absolutely heartbreaking. She's not the right age or vocal type for Julie Jordan, though.
If a Broadway production were to materialize this second, my top pick for Julie Jordan would be Phillipa Soo.
