I am interested in directing a production of her play and am having difficulty finding out which company has the rights available for licensing?

I know the script has been published by the TCG in a Ruhl anthology but that is all.

The production is for a college for next year's season.

Thank you!!

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Information can be found on the copyright page in the anthology:

Rights controlled by author's representative:

Bruce Ostler, Bret Adams LTD
448 West 44th Street
NY, NY 10036

212 765 5630

Hope that helps and works....I'm interested in proposing it for a production, as well.

Funny you should mention this. I was just on the website for Samuel French today, and saw this announcement:
"WELCOME SARAH RUHL

THE CLEAN HOUSE

Samuel French, Inc. proudly announces the recent acquisition of Sarah Ruhl’s amazing new comedy, THE CLEAN HOUSE."

The acting edition isn't publilshed yet, but the royalty is $100

I hope the acting edition is the same version that was performed at Lincoln Center. The published version is different.

And, can I just say, what a damn wonderful play.

What is the difference?
