A better idea would be to schedule shows with the Spanish and shows without, because for first-timers to WSS, it would be very confusing. When you get tickets for a Spanish show, the person can just say "This production will be in English with minimal Spanish dialogue and songs. Is that okay?" so it doesn't shock them, and then people who don't know WSS or just don't want to see it with Spanish, can get tickets for the English show.

I'm liking this idea more and more.

I just wish Arthur would have the guts to do something about that AWFUL Jets dialogue.

Like translate it into Polish, maybe.

I think it is a great idea to translate some songs into Spanish. I am so tired of the same Broadway shows being presented with no contemporary or imaginative direction. Who wants to see the same old thing? I am looking forward to this production.

but seriously, I love how much this conversation (and the entire situation) parallels what is going on in the US right now re: immigration. we haven't come very far since West Side Story first opened, have we?
