Are there any good books out there written about this type of theater? I love this type of theater and my high school director loved it too, considering we did a bunch of Ionesco shows and a couple others (Machinal, The Park Bench). Thanks.

There are dozens, perhaps hundreds of books on the overall subject, plus dozens of others on Ionesco, Beckett, Pinter and other exponents of the style. Check any decent library or bookstore and you should find several titles.

THE book on the theatre of the absurd is called (not surprisingly) THE THEATRE OF THE ABSURD, written by Martin Esslin. This is the book that actually coined the term. Great chapters on Beckett, Ionesco, Genet, Pinter, Albee, and Adamov. Originally published about 40 years ago, but still in print.

Thanks. Yeah, I tried going to my college library, which is a pretty good library, but it just came up with Ionesco.
