I know that Second Stage was planning on acquiring the Helen Hayes Theatre and making it the Second Stage Theatre. Does anyone know when this is supposed to happen or any new info?
(I checked their website and there's no specific information)

Common sense would tell me that Second Stage can't acquire the theatre unless Rock of Ages closes or moves theatres... and they aren't going anywhere any time soon.

Well, couldn't Second Stage still own the theatre and have Rock of Ages be their tenant?

I'm also wondering what would happen to Rock of Ages if this happened.

the plan at one point was for them to force out ROA at the end of the year at start programing this spring, and by the way as the theater owner they can kick ROA out tomorrow is they really wanted.

Why would they want to evict ROA if it's bringing in money?

I have heard a few conflicting stories, but one was that RoA would have up to 2 years after Second Stage took ownership.

Another was that the plans for the theater include a sizable lounge on upstairs with windows looking out on the street that would require the building to be closed for a while and immediate vacancy.

I don't know that either is correct.

All I know for certain was that no one expected RoA to be doing as well as it has been when they moved to 44th St. Some cast said when it was ending its run at the BAT that they just wanted to stay open until the movie came out. Instead they are 7th in average ticket price and 8th in % capacity and really strong.

ha! that two year thing couldn't be further from the truth, second stage isn't going sit around for 2 years after paying like 40 million for the building
