Hey everyone!
I'll be taking my fifth annual Spring Break trip to New York. Though I stay with a friend, I go to shows and museums, etc. by myself. Was curious if any other college age-ish people were in a similiar boat. Here's my schedule so far:
3/18 mat = COMPANY
3/19 = SPRING AWAKENING
3/20 = ?
3/21 mat = ?
3/21 = PIRATE QUEEN
3/22 = CURTAINS
3/23 = GREY GARDENS
3/24 = UTOPIA marathon
Also, I'm going to CURTAINS on opening night. How dressed up do I have to get? Any advice would be appreciated.

Let me clarify to say that anyone that has some free time while I'm in town and wants to talk about theatre, just let me know!
My friend lives out in Jersey City and works most of the day, so I'm usually just a loner...

Whenever I go to London, I kip on the sofa (sometimes there's a spare bed!
) of some friends who live just south of the river, but it's very rare we'll actually hang out. I tend to do most of my theatre-going in the week when they're all at work. Sometimes we will go to the theatre or for food together, and that's always fun. But most of the time I'll be all on my tod apart from at night when sleeping under their roof. :3
Also I'm going to NY on my own in a couple weeks. I wasn't going to mention it because I'll be wholly alone and living in a hotel room rather than staying with friends, but we have some date overlap so thought I'd add it in anyway. I'm interesting like that. :3
3/20 - Spelling Bee
3/21 - Beauty And The Beast, Spring Awakening
3/22 - Company
3/23 - Curtains
3/24 - Pirate Queen, Pirates Of Penzance
3/25 - Les Mis
I wish Broadway had some Tuesday/Thursday matinees like the West End. I'm used to having to occupy myself all day Friday, but that Tuesday and Thursday with only one show each day feels wasted somehow. XD (Any off-Broadway shows do non-Wednesday/Saturday/Sunday matinees that people can recommend?)

You can wear whatever you want to opening night. Don't be influenced by others. As for going to shows by yourself, I think you'll find that many of the audience members surrounding you at shows will be there alone. People who go to the theatre 3-4 times a week and aren't in a relationship don't consider attending shows an "event" per se and just go whenever they can fit the shows into their schedules. GREAT list of shows by the way. It's nice to see a vacation theatre-going list that doesn't include Disney or WICKED.

(I'm only going to see Beauty And The Beast 'cos I've never seen it before and this is most likely my only chance to see it on Broadway. Just thought I'd add that in there.
