While what I have to say really doesn't mean that much, I figured I'd say it anyway. I don't understand everything that is involved with this possible strike, but I'm scared about it happening. I do not live near NYC, and I planned a trip there mainly so I can see some shows. I've had tickets for Wicked and POTO for this coming weekend for 5 months now, along with having everything else booked. (Obviously there are lots of people on this board who are not Wicked fans. I've been waiting forever anxiously to see the show and I'll make my own judgments when I finally see it.) I've had countdowns going for when we leave cuz I'm so freakin excited. And now if they go on strike, that 5 months of anticipation is gone. Yeah, I've been to nyc and I love it... still excited to go, but the main reasons aren't there. And if the strike does happen and shows close this weekend, just getting refunds for the tickets isn't enough satisfaction for me. And like I said, I don't live in NYC, so I can't just wait to see them when it opens again. I'd have to plan another trip... and I don't have time or the money for it. This whole thing is just frustrating! So like everyone else on the board, I'm praying everything turns out well. I understand I'm looking at worst-case scenario, but am I overreacting?

You're not overreacting at all. A little anxiety is a given, especially don't often get the opportunity to see Broadway shows. I've mostly been in college and Israel from September until a week ago, and now when I'm finally back home I might not be able to watch any shows because of this. Needless to say, I'm a little nervous myself.

One reassuring factor to look at is that WICKED isnt going anywhere after the strike. Its the other shows that i am nervous about not being able to see, since they might just close all together. THATS whats getting me nervous.

Though scattered and divided we are still its heart...AIDA SEPTEMBER 5th, 2004...one more longing backward glance... I AM NOW "TGIF!"

I'm crossing my fingers for Caroline, or Change.
