Thoughts on LEOPOLDSTADT

I caught yesterday's matinee and wanted to really like it and am still processing the play.

With the exception of THE REAL THING, I've never connected with Stppard's writing. I've always felt as though I've walked into the middle of a conversation and I never catch up with things. This was true with LEOPOLSTADT.

Stppard has a very powerful story to tell and has some intriguing characters on stage but I never felt drawn into to the play. The last scene is exceptionally toughing but everything prior to that didn't fully engage me. It didn't help that there was such a large numder of character on stage
