Three Days of Rain, starring Julia Roberts, has been one of the most talked about shows this season. It may be the most talked of show right now, but it is only a waste of time to get Julia fans to say "She's Cool."
During the first act, I really felt that Julia was not believable at all. It felt like watching a TV show or a movie for some reason. In fact, all of actors in this play are trying to make their characters funny rather than believable. However, Bradley Copper did make the character real for %45 percent of the act. Unlike The History Boys, there was NO SUBSTANCE. I paid allot to see this and find myself thinking what a waste of time I spent just because of the marquee names they have.
The second act, in my opinion, was worse. However, I have to give a good hand to Bradley Copper for keeping himself in the game. I could tell he had a passion for the character. Again, the whole act was like a TV show or a film. THERE WAS NO SUBSTANCE WHATSOEVER between anybody.
In summary, this play just did not sit with me. If you want to pay this much to see Julia Roberts, go ahead. However, what I saw today was more like a dirty trick waiting to occur. If one wants to just waste their time when they dont even know what the play is about or if Julia is good at all, it would be considered in my opinion a waste of time.

I saw the show today as well. I thought the material was great and all three actors were great. Julia was much better than reviews made her out to be and I find the critics didn't like the character. The character in the first act isn't supposed to be the same as the characters that Julia normally plays so she definately came off different than on screen. I thought she did a fine job in both acts. Paul and Bradley were both great.
Victor Garber was in the audience if anyone there noticed.
