I was also lucky enough to be at the final dress (thanks to a subscription to New Group)... Had great seats - back row center in the orchestra - about 6 empty rows in front of us which were roped off, so we had a perfect view.

I had never seen the show, knew nothing about it, and left the theatre totally enthralled! I thought Alan Cumming was magnificent - sexy as all get out (his chemistry with Cyndi Lauper was hot hot hot!), and Ana Gasteyer was absolutely flawless. Also incredibly wonderful were Jim Dale and the man who played Lucy (sorry, don't remember his name). The concept is extremely hip - very sleazy and sexual and also extremely funny (IMHO). I thought Cyndi Lauper was wonderful when she was singing, but very nervous and a bit lost while acting. But I think she's gonna get there as soon as she can relax and have fun with the role. She looks awesome and is such a great, great character to watch.

It's definitely not going to be to everyone's liking, but the five people I went with all just loved the entire production. I'd love to see it again in a few months when everyone is totally comfortable in their roles and having fun (there seemed to be a few nervous moments and a few spots where lines were stepped on - due to long pauses).

I loved Nellie McKay's presence - delivery and character. Her voice is pleasant but not big enough to fill a Broadway theatre, but it seemed to fit the character quite nicely. It was my first Broadway dress rehearsal, so the lack of a playbill was kind of strange (not to mention lack of curtain call, but being an actor, it made total sense to me - I've never been in a production where curtain calls were staged before a final dress).

All in all, an excellent production - lots of fun to watch and I'd highly recommend it to anyone ... except those easily offended by profanity (but really, if you're offended by that, why see a show about prostitutes and criminals?!).

Go see it - you'll have a terrific time.

Just a note - there is no curtain call in this production. They just exit the stage through the audience, with no curtain call. I think it was an excellent choice.
