Posted: 4/21/05 at 12:34amIt's too bad more shows don't. Several do in London (as well as the occasional Tuesday and Friday matinee) and it makes it so much easier there to see a bunch of shows all at once during a short visit (you can potentially do as many as 10 shows there in 5 or 6 days). Since the vast majority of Broadway ticket buyers are out-of-town tourists, I wonder whether producers might consider copying that strategy sometime in the future.

I think its a great thing, especially if you're only going to be in town for a little while. (Also, towards the end of the "Golda" run, it seemed the schedule became more and more whenever Tovah felt like doing shows - which is fine because she's fabulous)

Really stupid that Broadway doesn't have a "staggered" matinee schedule, with different shows having matinees on different days. For a tourist like myself, who wants to see as many shows as he can in a short period of time, it would be a real money maker for the producers. I'm staying 4 nights in June and seeing 6 shows, but I've got Thursday and Friday free, and the producers are losing money by not scheduling any matinees those days.

Posted: 4/21/05 at 9:45amI love the papermill 2pm Thursday show, I always go to that one, when I'm in town. That way I don't have to skip a Broadway show, and get to see more things!
