Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

Alfie- $90? Geez, I paid $6 when I saw it! Okay, I saw it at school as opposed to a professional production, but still...

Are shows in Toronto really that expensive?

ETA: Sorry Alfie, I misunderstood what you were referring to with the cost. I was just wondering, after what's been posted about the condition of the theater why it would be that much. But $25 is makes more sense.

TTB didn't cost $90, it was like $20 or $25, which is cheap for a professional production. He was referring to the usual price for big shows in the city. It's no different than what you'd pay in NY or any other big city. You can't really compare the cost of a school production to a professional one. Come on.

bluewizard, no one I've seen in ttb has portrayed Jonathan as world-weary. There's been no indication from the people I've met who actually knew him that he was that, at all. :) Updated On: 3/1/05 at 09:09 AM

I was referring to the type of standing ovations that I've been a part of so often when I've seen one of the "big" shows (Sunset Blvd., Phantom, Mama Mia) where everyone stands by rote. These are the $90 shows against which shows like TTB are competing. Again, I want to say how thrilling it was to be part of a GENUINE standing ovation....people jumping to their feet because they were really excited by what they saw.
Anyone know if there's any chance of a revival?

Haha Alfie I was at the same show as you, did you see me?
<----------- I was sitting two seats in from the aisle, third row back from the stage left side with my hair in a ponytail and a tall blond guy.
Hey, it's a small theatre!
