Timeless to Me - Hairspray

Are certain parts of "Timeless to Me" supposed to be improvised and is it natural for the actor's to crack up? Because I think if that's so then this number is fantastic and natural for those parts.

Timeless to Me - Hairspray

It is scripted to break character, AND is also often improvised.

Timeless to Me - Hairspray

I seen the show many many times in London.

Michael Ball and Nigel Planer did the same routine of this song twice, then it changed a few other night and continued in such a fashion.

I then seen it with Brian Conley as Edna, and it was the same with Phil Jupitus.

My guess is, they improv that part of the song, and whatever comes out stay for about a month? Then they improv again and whatever happens stays. So it is improvised, then scripted-ish - don't quote me on this though! haha

Timeless to Me - Hairspray

It's based on the old gag on the Carol Burnett show where the cast would try to get each other to break during the scenes, which became the show's trademark.

(30 Rock did a parody of that phenomenon a few weeks ago with Tracy Morgan breaking on purpose while filming.)

Timeless to Me - Hairspray

It's scripted. I am not really a big fan of scripted improv. Half of the time I miss what they are laughing about.
