Usually they say that you shouldn't open your mouth if you don't have anything good to say, but I have to say that this was the worst piece of garbage that I have ever seen.
How this got to Broadway is the biggest mystery in the world. Watching this piece of crap and hearing all the people in the audience laugh so hard out loud, I thought I was in on one of the biggest "jokes" of all time. I really thought that all of the people laughing were paid off.
I go to 3/4 shows a month, many repeats, and was amazed how amateurish this show was. The joke is on me. I've never said this before, but I want my money back. Just like the note in the show, this note could have been used instead.
I had very much been looking forward to seeing it. Having seen some shows that have come from off broadway to be hits on Broadway, I figured this might be another one. I never wish bad for actors, actresses or writers, but let's hope that they can find something else decent to get into right away. I can't believe how bad this show was.
I see that the grosses are around 50%. That is 50% too much. I don't post much, but having seen so many wonderful things on broadway, this was such a letdown.
I know every show is not for everyone, but I just don't get it.

Yes, but how do you feel about that?
(Why do you think it's a piece of garbage?)
I can definitely see how this could be a complete hit or a complete miss depending on the person. I thought it was good, not great. I laughed a lot, but I also saw it for free.
I do think it can be seen at a deeper level (if you choose to) as an artistic piece commenting on what we choose to laud in our times. I mean, it's kind of trippy that the progress of the show is about the progress of the show. It's what we're rooting for. Not for them to succeed because they've already created great art, but that we want them to succeed to see the story of them succeeding. I mean, how many modern "celebrities" do we celebrate (and we do celebrate them... don't pretend you don't go on perez and even negative attention is attention) who really do nothing other than be celebrities.
Another kind of amazing thing about the show is that those people made that show happen. They just decided to keep pushing and pushing when things came to a halt and I not only admire them for that, but it's a great reminder in my own life when I'm told "no."
I'm not saying you should reconsider it, but allow that it may work on more levels than just the "insider jokes." My guess is you can hit Gypsy or South Pacific next week and this whole thing will be a distant memory.
