Okay, so I'm lost? Are they doing an OBC recording of Chitty or not? If not, then I'll just suck it up and buy the London Cast, but if they do a NY one, then I'll wait. The only london cast recording i can stand is Mary Poppins, does anybody have word on this question of mine?
Do you think Chitty will actually sell? From the very few songs (and very few was all I needed to hear) I have heard, I find it to be highly obnoxious...
despite so so reviews, chitty has been doing well....considering that a lot of people said it would flop...I think it has the power to stay for a while...not years or anything...But I think definitly long enough for a CD...and if not, they should still make one.....I don't think there should be a rule as to how well a show sells to determine a CD...i mean look at Side Show...THAT IS AN AMAZING CAST RECORDING!..But I think the CD could sell...maybe not so much in the stores, but if you're going to be humming the song for the next few days, pick up a copy of the CD on your way out...and NOT London's version
What did you mean by "sell"? The show or the CD?
Chances seem to be no, though there hasn't been an officially publicized word either way yet.
well we asked the people at the show when we were there last week and they said there were no plans to make a new recording, since there was barely any changes from the London to the Broadway and Michael Ball is a bigger star than Raul or something like that.
Also Chitty will be staying awhile, it's about to get all the funding from the London Show when it closes this year. According to a friend that works for the show.
I liked the show, it was just a cute fun show and Raul is awesome, not to mention Chip Zien is amazing.
