Hello all. I just ran across this CNN website article on snacking inside Broadway theatres. Our Miss Patti certainly lends her opinions on the topic. Bon apetit! from Roman in Austin, Texas... the official Patti LuPone FANatic
Snacking On Broadway

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

You are found GUILTY of creating yet ANOTHER topic about eating in the theatre. I sentence you to searching before creating a new thread for the rest of your life!

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Ooops... I forgot to comment on the subject. I think it's disrespectful, to the performers and other audience members, to have to listen to people's snacking noises while watching a show. Eat before the show or afterwards. The actors are trying to give the best perf possible...so even something like a candy being unwrapped and in an audible way, will mar the experience. It's just my opinion. I happen to agree with Miss Patti...and not just because I'm her FANatic (the good kind). from Roman in Austin, Texas

Well, it may not have been a recent topic on this forum. But the CNN article is dated January 26th, hence the reason for my posting. I did look thru the first two pages to see if anyone had mentioned the CNN article. Even so, sometimes, people need reminding, especially about snacking in theatres. The Times article is almost 100% identical to the one in CNN.
