ON THIS DAY IN:

1925 Yogi Berra was born [May 12th]. He was a well-known New York performer and subject of Off-Broadway Ben Gazzara solo play, Nobody Don't Like Yogi.


p.s.

When Yogi was asked, "When's your birthday?"
He answered: May 12th.
"No, no. I mean what year?"
Replied Yogi: Every year!


Edited to correct the Subject Header (I'm really sorry). Yogi said, "It ain't over till it's over," but it's already May 13th, so I guess it is over.

But not really. Because May 12th remains his birthday, and it will be so next year and every year.
