Eleanor Steber 7/17/1916 - 10/3/1990 soprano: internationally acclaimed Metropolitan Opera diva, appeared in 50 different leading operatic roles, heard in more premiers at the Met than any other artist; taught at Juilliard. For me, listenting to her voice was like taking a bath in sumptuous, warm oils. She was a wonderful dramatic vocal coach.
