Ogden Nash 08/19/1902- May 19, 1971 writer, lyricist; the undisputed American master of light verse, wrote quite frequently for The New Yorker. He also had several of his pun-filled poems published. These collections include The Bad Parent’s Garden of Verse, which he wrote in 1936 and the popular 1957 collection titled, You Can’t Get There from Here. 1999 The story of The Cavalla Kings hits the scene as Kat and the Kings opens tonight. The musical tells the story of a talented but "non-white" young band that couldn't compete with apartheid in Cape Town, South Africa. David Kramer directs and musically stages the production that plays at the Cort Theatre on Broadway for 157 performances.
