Just read that on Broadway.com. Is she the first Aida to have that schedule? And is it so hard to sing? And did she have the same schedule for Beauty and the Beast? I need some answers, people! :)

http://www.broadway.com/template_1.asp?CI=29495&CT=38 is the article. I don't know what the other Aida's have done in the past.

Not that I know of. Heather Headley, Maya Days, Simone, Merle Dandridge, and Paulette Ivory all have done eight shows a week. As to wether she did it for Beauty and the Beast, I have no idea. I look at this schedule as a blessing though -- Saycon Sengbloh will get to show her stuff, even if it only two shows a week.

Oh, is she good? I've never heard of her. What have you seen her in?

She played Mimi on the second National tour of Rent. She was a great performer, although she isn't the best 'Mimi' I have seen. It was more of a case of her not being totally right for the role (Her 'bar dance' during 'Out Tonight' fell a little flat, probably because she wasn't that comfortable on them), but you could still tell that she is a wonderful performer.
I saw her again when she went on for Paulette Ivory as Aida and she really was wonderful in the role.

What kind of work do you do? You're so knowledgeable about so many performers! :)

I am an actor.
haven't quite made it onto the Broadway stage YET, but someday.....
::to the tune of 'Baltimore Crabs' from Hairspray::
Broadway dreams for me were cracked, when that damned Adam Wylie stole my frickin act!
LOL!! Only thing I know about her and that show, is that when friends of mine went to the stagedoor to see Mandy Gonzalez, the security man says "Ms. Braxton does not sign autographs". They told him. "We're not here for MISS Braxton.." I thought that was funny as hell. So when Mandy comes out and she's all smiles and hugs everyone, and they give her roses and she talks to everybody, and when Ms Braxton came out nobody much cared...wonder how that went over.. LOL

Thta is hilarious. certain stars just need to get over the fact that the world does not revolve around them. That stuck up, "It's about me" attitude REALLY ticks me off.

Yeah, I hear that Adam Wylie is IMPOSSIBLE at stage doors!!!!!

????? I was refering to the fact that Toni neds to get over herself. Why would you think I was refering to Adam? He is hardly a star.

I was just trying to make a joke about "certain stars." Joke. Don't be touchy.

Duane,
from the way you have treated not only myself, but Craig in many of your previous postings to this message board, I have valid reason for being touchy.

That's how you read it. I read it as humor, as do many others, who have sent me private messages agreeing with me that you're a bit much.

Alexis, Crystal... You're both pretty! :)
I had gone to the TKTS booth yesterday, and Aida was on it, but I didnt see it because of Toni. Now, since I usually see the matinees for the TKTS line, I can see it, and not be scared that the songs will be skewered!

Actually...
I saw Saycon the week before Toni took over. I didn't much care for her voice. I thought she was "losing" it. Apparantly that's how she always sings though. A lot of her words end up being lost. Too bad because she's decent in the part acting wise.
