As far as a raised key...I found one also in a "Contemporary Broadway Songs" book, and it was about 3 steps higher...the perfect key for a baritone, making the final "And I...." "..don't Mind"...those money notes, sit at an F.

So, now I sing it =)

That's the key I have, in the Alan Menken songbook. The money notes are D (first chorus) and F (second chorus) instead of A and C.

A funny side note to all this, the show was then known as "Braxton and the Beast"

LOL! I dunno about that, but she is definetly ghetto behind the scenes. Hmm this was years ago,, maybe she told Beast, "Talk to the hand." or to the townsfolk after Belle, "Holla baaack!"

R2DG, it's arranged in a baritone key in the Alan Menken songbook. I'm not sure how it's done in other books.

An Ex-Boyfriend of mine was in the show at the time she was doing Belle, and he says she was an absolute JOY to work with. Always kind and polite and never had an attitude. At least that is what he said.

"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

I've always liked her. It sucks about all the trouble she's had with her career lately.

"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

Yeah, I feel bad for her, too. I remember there was this VH1 special about her around the time when she was doing Aida and she had to leave her record company because they wanted her to do crazy promotion for her new CD right after she had a baby.

In my opnion I would have loved to see her as Belle but if she can pull it off then Raven Symone can pull it off too.

Woa! Is Raven planning to do Beauty? Raven is an amazing talent, I don't really know her singing, but she a fantastic actress.

Well it's not like singing matters in BatB. I saw Christe Ramono that Sopranos girl and she couldn't really hold a note. I'm sure even the likes of Ashley Simpson and Paris Hilton could do Belle.

mejusthavingfun: You really should have some idea what you are talking about before you just keep talking crap about people. Because the "girl" from Sopranos is Jamie-Lynn Sigler who played Belle like 5 years ago. Not Christe Carlson Romano. If you dont have anything nice to say dont say it. All your posts are negative.

WHATEVER Makanonthy! Neither girl can sing. LOL, just when I though Jennifer Love Spewitt had killed the 3 name game.

"I'm sure even the likes of Ashley Simpson and Paris Hilton could do Belle"

I can imagine Paris after the opening saying: "That's hot."

And AshlEE could have her songs pre-recorded. Ha!

Ashlee would probably do well in this show. It's pretty much animatronic, everything is so robo.
