Hey!

I'm new here, and I'm looking for some help.

I'm planning a quick, 1 night trip on June 6 and 7.

My hope is to see the Tonys...how easy is it to get tickets?

I also plan on seeing 3 other shows (The Audience, On the 20th Century, and Hedwig). Are those good choices? Do the lead cast members normally perform on the day of the Tonys?

Sorry for all the questions, but any help would be awesome!!

Tickets to the Tonys can be quite expensive ($250+) but, if you have the money, you shouldn't have a problem getting tickets. During the final week leading up to the Tonys last year, a handful of $300 tickets were still available and a lot at $500.

I saw all three of those shows and they are absolutely great! Good choices. And it may depend on the type of show whether leads will perform or not. I'm sure Helen Mirren will do her matinee performance since straight plays don't perform at the Tonys, and a Hedwig should be fine as well. I wouldn't know about 20th Century.

"Mostly, I loved the size of these people's emotions. Nobody has emotions this size anymore. Outsized emotions. Operatic emotions. Kushemski and Vanda are like Tristan and Isolde, they're Paolo and Francesca. Nobody's in total thrall like this anymore. Nobody's overcome by passion like this, or goes through this kind of rage." Student rush is available and I have had friends do it in the past but usually the Thursday or Friday before. Around $40 a ticket in the balcony. It is lottery though.
