Well I did see Shuler Hensley in Oklahoma in the Londobn stage production. He was quite good but the star in acting, singing and dancing was of course HUGH JACKMAN not to mention his personality, charisma, handsome not a big enough word and so rleaxed and believable.
However, in my younger days I have seen and enjoyed Tarzen as so many others have done - BUT A MUSICAL - like singing whilst I fly through the trees with our without Jane does not appeal to me - at all.
I have also seen Shuler in some smaller roles and Van Helsing and it was not until I heard him speaking in those roles I realised that his voice did not change that much for any of the roles, particularly that of Judd Fry in Oklahoma. He can sing but he has, or that is what I think too much of a vibrato in his voice and it did not make the grade for me to the same extent as Rod Steiger who played Judd Fry. However, Hugh and Josephine particularly were awe inspiring backed up by a terrific cast.
How can this work with Tarzen the musical. Sorry Anne
Whoa, is this part of a new trend, the John C. Reilly approach? What's his role?
He's going to play the Gorilla.
Phew. Sorry.
