I recently recalled this. Seems Tonya was ahead of the curve in calling out white theatre (and that time the accused was male).

She wasn't "ahead of the curve" - Black people have been actively fighting racism in show-business for decades, if not centuries. Everyone else was WAY behind the curve.
I remember when this happened. It was complicated by the fact that her Black co-star, Michael Potts, supported the director, and then Pinkins called out Potts.

I've said this a lot in the past few weeks, but this is yet another case of how intersectionality complicated these social issues.
