Personally, I would recommend Hadestown for sure as it is generally accepted as the frontrunner for best musical. I found this seasons musicals to be quite weak so I would recommend seeing 2 plays. The Ferryman and What the Constitution Means to me were both fantastic.
But if you prefer another musical, then I would say if you're in the mood for something light and funny and see the possible winner of best leading actor in a musical, go with Tootsie. If you want to see an edgy but highly polarizing reinterpretation of a beloved show, go with Oklahoma!
I know I listed more than 3 but all are such different vibes and really depend on your preferences :)

Thank you so much everyone. After listening to the majority of the HADESTOWN cast recording, I'm not convinced. Does it work better on stage than it plays on Spotify?

YES. I was not completely sold on the show based on the album on Spotify, but I LOVED the show. The arrangements are very different for the Broadway version than for the concept album.

I saw HADESTOWN, and I am bummed. A winning little thing, but sad and uneven, and a substandard book. A "B-" in my review. Special and glad I saw it, but not the thing I would ever see again, nor suggest strongly YOU GOTTA SEE.

The new "Oklahoma!" is not to be missed! Just be forewarned, this isn't your grandmother's Rogers and Hammerstein classic in tone.

I'll be visiting New York from LA Friday June 7 until Monday June 10 and able to catch four shows. ALL MY SONS is unmissable to me (Annette!), and I've seen THE PROM, TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD, and NETWORK, so they're out.
So, Broadway experts, what other THREEshows should I catch in order to have as well-rounded of a theatre weekendexperience I can-- while being able to see as many Tony nominees/likely winners as possible?
Appreciate your input -- New York, here I come!!

If you aren't wedded to Tony contenders, the best musicals in NY right now are My Fair Lady and Fiddler (in Yiddish with subtitles).
I was so bored at Hadestown that I left at intermission. (The only time I've done that in 50 years of theatre-going!!) But the rest of the audience was loudly enthusiastic.
