Tonys on Letterman

Did anyone see Dave talk about the Tonys and Billy Crystal walk out carrying his award? Dave called the Tony's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell Sunday on CBS."

Billy Crystal walked out. Dave raved about Crystal's show. Dave said the Tonys weren't his thing, but loved Crystal's one-man show and was rooting for him to win.

Crystal presented Dave with his Tony award saying Dave has done a lot for "Broadway" over his 11 years there, then walked off. Dave acted surprised and kept talking about it. Crystal then walked back out on stage and wanted it back. It was a funny skit. :)

Thanks! I'll watch tonight here in SF to see that!

Glad to see Letterman actually recognize the Tonys (even if they're not his thing), rather than just mock it like Craig Ferguson did (wonder how CBS felt about that).

Ferguson wasn't the only one to mock it. You had to hear what Don Imus's cohorts said on Imus in the Morning when he told them he watched the Tony's because "there was nothing else on." One actually said "The Tony's!!! The Weather Channel is better than that!"

IMO - stereotyping. You know, men don't sing and dance (sort of like the explanation for Hugh's "Wolverine" comment), they only do sports.
