Those are my favorites as far as emotional attachment.... and hours of listening to the recording.....
However as far as productions go... i keep to the idea that Billy Elliot was probably the best production / show I ever saw..... but it doesn't even make my favorite 25 list. lol.

Man, this was difficult! I won't even attempt to put these in any kind of order, except to say that my #1 is most definitely "Rent"! After that, my list is in no particular order because I don't feel like sitting here for 6 hours tearing my hair out. LOL

6. The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee
7. Hairspray
8. Billy Elliot
9. La Cage aux Folles
10. Into the Woods
11. Grey Gardens

13. Aspects of Love
14. Hair
15. Sunday in the Park with George
16. The Book of Mormon
17. Gypsy
18. Spring Awakening
19. The Phantom of the Opera
20. In the Heights
21. Urinetown
22. The Drowsy Chaperone
23. Chess
24. Rock of Ages
25. The Light in the Piazza
As you can tell, I'm not overly fond of the old musicals. They just don't resonate with me enough to include on a Top 25 list. I love all things Sondheim, so paring down which of his shows to include was perhaps most difficult of all for me.
