Top 3 Prestigious Advertisers

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone out there might have a suggestion for what they consider to be among the most respected, prestigious and influential theater related publications, print or otherwise in which to place an ad for a groundbreaking new musical related to topical issues of today, i.e. education and immigration, 18 songs written in a classical style, i.e. Rogers and Hammerstein which might attract backers for this show. Any tips you might have in this regard would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Hal

The NYT, NYPost, Variety, Playbill, Bway Briefing, Forbes, and here? NYT is key.

forget ads. hire yourself a top flight publicist. you cannot penetrate consciousness with ads for an unknown project.

Like Hogan said, forget advertising.

Try getting involved with the Commercial Theatre Institute, or pitch your show to a non-profit theatre that develops new musicals (in NY or around the country). Your agent and entertainment attorney will also be able to connect you with theatres/producers/investors (and if you don't have an agent yet, get one before doing anything else!)

Your demo recording of songs from the musical and a PDF of the script will be your biggest assets in all your pitches.
