I've never gone to see a touring production before, but my friend in California really wants to see Spring Awakening and since it's leaving Broadway soon enough I figure I might as well see it with her (especially since both times I saw it were with Blake Bashoff and I loved him in the role). However, I'm not sure how to go about getting tickets. Do the regular places like playbill.com, broadwaybox, etc. also offer discounts for a touring show? If not, is there a way to get cheaper tickets? Does the tour have onstage seating?
The only other upcoming show I plan to see (tour-wise) is the Rent tour and I pose the same question: how do I get discounts for a tour?

I don't know of any general discount for a tour but check with the venue near you as it may have one. Theatres near me that have tours offer rush, student and senior discounts. I have signed up for their online newsletters and sometimes receive coupons or discount codes for shows.
