Has anyone seen this off-Broadway show yet? It is playing through April 2 at the Harold Clurman Theatre, 410 W. 42nd St.
"I am nothing else now but that burning, proud, impatient longing for you."
This show is the story of the affair between Nelson Algren and Simone de Beauvoir. It is told mainly in letters and is probably one of my favorite smaller pieces I have seen in a long time.
I actually worked as production manager on this show when it had it's American premiere in Dallas, TX at Theatre 3; the two actors - Elizabeth Rothan and Matthew Tompkins are perfect - as is the direction by John McLean. I am so proud of this show and to know that I had a small, very small, hand in it.
It's gotten some fairly good notices so far.
