Hello....i'm writing this cuz i'm curious to hear everyone else's opinions on this.

i have been dancing for ages (for the purpose of being a triple threat and the next broadway star haha; NOT because i'm destined for NYC ballet lol). I tend to be better at jazz than ballet. My biggest problem with ballet is that I don't always remained TURNED OUT with turns....i mean i'm turned out with basic stuff, but i'm definitely better at turns and whatnot in a more jazz style that is turned in (probably part of the problem being that i started with tap and jazz when i was tiny)....while there are big dance musicals (a chorus line, etc), how many of these dance shows do you think really demand being TURNED OUT as opposed to having good jazz and ballet technique (like having the grace and everything). Obviously the Oklahoma dream sequence demands actual BALLET....not just using the ballet technique for a more jazzy/theatery stye. do you guys think that there are more instances of traditional lyrical ballet needed in musical theater that i am not thinking of where they acutally use musical theater people, as opposed to a special dream laurie?

i'm just curious what everyone thinks....i'm still continuing ballet, don't worry. i think i get blinded by the fact that a lot of the people in my ballet class are dancers first, so my turn out is unacceptable for their standards, but not for mine where dancing is the third thing required to be a broadway star.
