I loved this movie! Okay, I'm a romantic comedy fan, but even so this one stood out. Ashton is adorable and sexy, Amanda is gorgeous and winning, and the film is one which is both funny and serious and really romantic (which an r.c. should be). And...I was delighted to see Big River's Ty Giordano as Ashton's brother. First of all, casting a deaf actor was a great decision by the director, and Ty makes the most of a small but charming role. He even speaks a bit and sounds almost like a hearing person. Kudos to him for mastering spoken language as well as ASL! The film's supporting roles are wonderfully cast, revealing how much young talent there is in Hollywood, and I appreciated seeing Asian American actors in several key supporting roles. There are lots of gorgeously scenes of "my" city L.A. (looking its best) and many of my favorite city to visit, New York (looking equally attractive, though quite a bit too chilly for me.) If you don't like the genre, you'll probably not like the movie, nor will you if you're an Ashton hater. If like me you like to see beautiful people laugh and love and cry on the way to a happy ending fadeout, I can definitely recommend this film.
