It's good that a young, rising writer is writing the book as opposed to someone like Ben Elton or a previously established name - perhaps the perspective will be fresher - and this is merely coincidental that it clashed with Live 8, it will have been in planning for much longer.

But, do we need any more band musicals?

Mamma Mia, Tonight's the Night, Our House, We Will Rock You, Closer to Heaven, All You Need is Love, Buddy, Rat Pack Confidential, The Genius Of Ray Charles.

It's lazy, and I'm dreading to think how they're going to incorporate things like 'Red Red Wine'.

I think the only song of theirs that I've actually heard is in fact "Red Red Wine."

"I think the only song of theirs that I've actually heard is in fact "Red Red Wine." "

...and that was a cover! Come to think of it, the only UB40 songs I remember were cover versions ("Red Red Wine," "Can't Help Falling in Love," "I Got You Babe," "Here I Am...").
